Londonwide LMCs conference success

Are you considering standing for election to your LMC?
This year’s contract changes include a one percent uplift in the global sum, amendments to some immunisation programmes and an end to the Dementia Direct Enhanced Service (DES). The Avoiding Unplanned Admissions DES remains in place and there is a new requirement for practices to monitor registered patients’ access to routine appointments during evenings and weekends.
Stand up for general practice in London
If you are a GP who would like to stand up for general practice in the Capital, please consider standing for election onto your local LMC. It’s never been as important to make your voice heard and stand up for general practice in London. Nominations must be received by 17:00 on Friday 3 June 2016.
Outstanding Apprentice of the Year
Stran-Jay Schloss, an apprentice working for Londonwide LMCs, has been voted Outstanding Apprentice of the Year by her peers on the apprenticeship programme. Stran-Jay has written about what winning the award means to her.
Health Service Journal Awards
The HSJ Awards represent an opportunity for practice teams and individuals to be recognised for the outstanding work they do. Categories include Compassionate Patient Care, Workforce and Clinical Leader of the Year. The deadline for award submissions is Friday, 3 June.
Media Round-up
The day after our Annual Conference NHS England launched the General Practice Forward View. Londonwide LMCs responded to the report launch on the day by issuing a joint statement in partnership with GP Survival and Resilient GP . Dr Elliott Singer, Medical Director for North Central North East London, appeared on the BBC Six O’Clock news to talk about the pressures experienced by general practice in the Capital.
