The death has come as a massive shock to family, friends and colleagues, our thoughts and condolences go to Adam’s family.
To say that Adam has been hugely influential in Londonwide LMCs is to understate his impact and presence. He has been a member of Ealing LMC for more than 30 years and became Chair of Ealing, Hammersmith and Hounslow LMC in 1994. Adam was instrumental in the coming together of Ealing, Hammersmith and Hounslow LMCs into a collaborative, a model that laid the way for the amalgamation of Middlesex LMCs and London LMCs to form Londonwide LMCs in 2002.
Adam was a founder member of the Board of Directors for Londonwide LMCs when it incorporated in 2007. He has remained on the Board ever since, serving first as Vice Chair and then as Chair for eight years. As the Chair of the Board, Adam was highly focussed and supportive, his tenure included steering the organisation through numerous board membership changes, relocation of premises and the pandemic. His impact and presence in the North West London health economy has been as significant as it has been enduring. He has also been Chair of our North West London Strategic Leadership Network since 2018, and has been seen as a leader of LMC chairs in NWL in their discussions on key strategic areas with the Integrated Care Board.
His advocacy for general practice and commitment to colleagues has been of legendary importance and will be greatly missed.
