- The UK Health Security Agency warns that climate change poses a major threat to health and wellbeing in the UK, particularly for those with pre-existing conditions, older people and underprivileged communities.
- There’s growing evidence that the climate crisis significantly impacts mental, as well as physical, health. Anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges are exacerbated due to climate emergencies.
- To facilitate this, The King’s Fund recently hosted a roundtable event in collaboration with the Climate Cares Centre, bringing together government policymakers and experts in both climate and mental health to explore potential integrated policy responses.
