It is with gratitude and sadness that I announce that after over thirty years in the service of GPs in the Capital, Londonwide LMCs’ CEO Dr Michelle Drage will be retiring in Spring next year.
Michelle has not only been an advocate for GPs and our teams across London, but has defended and championed the profession with politicians, commissioners, disruptive entrepreneurs, the media, and any and all those who have sought to undervalue or undermine the hard work of our dedicated GPs, GPNs and wider teams over the past three decades.
Under her leadership Londonwide LMCs has become a powerhouse organisation, recognised as a key partner influencing the Capital’s health and social care landscape and providing stakeholder and advocacy support on behalf of LMCs and GPs across the Capital with local authorities, the Mayor and London Assembly, Parliament, bodies such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and commissioners including NHS England and integrated care boards.
Having done such an amazing job of defending the profession, Michelle will be a hard act to follow.
The Londonwide LMCs Board are incredibly grateful to Michelle for the vision, energy and dedication that she has devoted to serving London general practice, and we wish her the absolute best in all her future plans and endeavours. We look forward to appointing the right candidate for one of the hardest jobs in general practice.
Now is a great moment to pick up the baton and continue to voice the very real concerns of GPs in the Capital.
Best wishes,
Dr Sid Datta
Chair
Londonwide LMCs Board of Directors
