New requirements for hospitals to ease GP workload

Londonwide LMCs has written to hospital CEOs regarding the six new requirements in the 2016/17 NHS Standard Contract clarifying the hospital and general practice interface. They are designed to reduce avoidable extra workload for GPs and help release time. We have also created a helpful template letter for practices to send to hospitals if the requirements are not being met.

On 10 August, our CEO, Dr Michelle Drage, was quoted in Pulse regarding on LMCs not being included in sustainability and transformation plans discussions. This was also covered in Practice Business. On 21 July Dr Jackie Applebee, chair of Tower Hamlets LMC, was interviewed by Primary Care Today about the LMC conference motion on industrial action.
