New requirements for hospitals to ease GP workload
Londonwide LMCs has written to hospital CEOs regarding the six new requirements in the 2016/17 NHS Standard Contract clarifying the hospital and general practice interface. They are designed to reduce avoidable extra workload for GPs and help release time. We have also created a helpful template letter for practices to send to hospitals if the requirements are not being met.
#GPStateofEmergency: new resources
Two new posters are available, one to explain the pressures practices are under to patients and one to highlight the resources we have available for practice staff.
General Practice Resilience Programme funding
£2.65m of resilience funding is available to London practices this financial year, it is the Capital’s share of a £16m national pot, which was promised as part of the GP Forward View.
NHS England Update on Estates and Technology Transformation Fund
This month’s ETTF reimbursement claims submissions must be submitted by 17:00 on Monday 22 August. This does not affect the London Improvement Grant Fund.
Patient engagement survey
We are asking practice and patient leads to tell us what makes a successful patient engagement scheme by completing our survey. We would also like to hear everyone’s top tips.
Capita list cleansing plan
NHS England has contracted Capita to run a list cleansing programme, details of the national process are currently available, but we are awaiting information on how it will affect London.

Practices have until 30 September to submit their applications for premises improvement funding. The form and procedure this year are slightly different to previous years.
TPP QRISK2 affected patient lists
Those practices affected by the TPP QRISK2 error that have not accessed the list of affected patients supplied by NHS England are advised to do so by the GPC.
Capita Primary Care Support England feedback
Feedback received from practices regarding the performance of Capita’s records transfer service in July has been fed back to Primary Care Support England.
Sustainability and transformation plan update
Recent sustainability and transformation plan (STP) news includes Dr Michelle Drage’s call for greater LMC involvement, possible service closure reviews being rolled into STP plans and funding for multi-speciality community provider (MCP) contracts via STPs.
Londonwide Enterprise update
It has been six years since Londonwide LMCs joined the LMC Buying Groups Federation. Over that time the Buying Group has added a range of new services and many London practices as customers.

On 10 August, our CEO, Dr Michelle Drage, was quoted in Pulse regarding on LMCs not being included in sustainability and transformation plans discussions. This was also covered in Practice Business. On 21 July Dr Jackie Applebee, chair of Tower Hamlets LMC, was interviewed by Primary Care Today about the LMC conference motion on industrial action.
